Mr Allen now lives in Northern Spain teaching English to Spanish children

MANY OF the Goldings Staff were present at a very picturesque wedding at Hatfield, on Saturday, 3ist July, when Mr. Allan,
our P. E. Teacher, was married to Miss Joscfma (Pepita) Asensio.
The bride was a picture of radiance as she stood in the church doorway in brilliant sunshine after the ceremony and faced a
battery of cameras, many of which were wielded by Goldings amateurs, and her dress of full length white lace set off by a I2ft.
train of tu'lle, and headdress of white feathers and tulle veil.
The bridesmaids who flanked this delightful centre piece wore the traditional Spanish costume of black lace, white lace
mantillas and large combs, and completing this group we must not forget the groom who stood his full 6 feet wearing a smile
of pride, which we are yet to see in the School Block classroom!
The bride was given away by a friend, Mr. Antonio Prat. The bridesmaids, also friends of the bride, were the Misses Mercedes
Rodriguez and Carmen Gonzalez, and Mr. Allan's best man was Mr. John Bocking, a college friend.
The reception was held in the Orangery at North Mymms Park, the stately home of General Sir George Burns, the
Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire, and it was a delightful setting for such a lovely day. Eighty-five guests attended and finally
saw the bride and groom leave for a honeymoon in Scotland.
On behalf of all the staff and boys at Goldings may I offer our good wishes for a full life of happiness in the future.
