A welcome from our President

John Hunt.

Firstly I would like to extend a warm welcome to you all. This is your web site and it is to help to reunite all of us to our Dr. Barnardo and Goldings family, for those of us that have lost touch with each other over the years we have the chance to reunite again here. I do hope that you will use it and find it informative and helpful.

So please send all your stories etc. I look forward to seeing all my friends at our reunions. So keep well and take care.

Kind regards to you all.

The wreath Brenda had laid at the bench in memory of John 14 th September 2006

March 14 th 1936 - August 29 th 2006

At the request of Brenda, John’s wife, a wreath was laid at our bench at Waterford by one of the younger Goldings boys in respect of
our former President, by Tony Angel (1962-64) It has been agreed that as a sign of this respect the position of President will not be occupied
for the foreseeable future in his honour.
Finally I would like to quote you a few words from the last Goldonian printed at the school March 1967 by Geoffrey Bowler.

Finally the School motto which is in English reads The End Crowns the Work, means that one is judged by the finished job, and
Although it is THE END of Goldings its name will still be judged for many years to come by the work completed by its “OLD BOYS”

“LIKE THE SCHOOL John’s name will go on.” R. I. P.
