Reg (Scoffer) Howitt 45-49

Reg came into Goldings in 1945, and left in 1949. He was a Cairn’s Boy.
And his trade was Bootmaking, a trade he sill continues with today along
Saddle and Bridle making, and runs his business near to Goldings, in Ware.
Reg was Cadet Drum Major, a legend in his time at Goldings and a
keen sportsman.
He was nicknamed by the boys “Scoffer” because he was always hungry!
And was known to eat leftover scraps of food to supplement his Goldings
Rations!
