A good place to see estuarine birds throughout the year with a range of habitats from open water to woodland.

Traeth Glaslyn, part of the Glaslyn Marshes SSSI, is a large estuarine site to the east of Porthmadog. It is especially interesting because it provides a good example of seral succession - the habitat changes from brackish open water, through mudflats, marshes and wet grassland to damp alder carr. This range of habitats supports many unusual plant species in a small area

The reserve 1.5 miles east of Porthmadog at the eastern end of the Rebecca Toll. For details regarding access to this reserve please contact the Bangor office.
