It has been hard to take in all the sad news we have had lately. News of David has come as a real shock, he was a great friend of mine at Goldings and meeting him each year at the reunion was a great pleasure. My thoughts and sympathy is with Carolyn. David was a great sportsman at Goldings and we sort of grew up together there. He was a gentleman in all ways and I will miss him so much.

Dear Dave,
Sadly, David died of bronchial pneumonia on Sunday after a 3-week battle with the illness.
We are all devastated. I am heartbroken – he was my rock and loving friend, All his loved ones were with him when he died and we are grieving a warm, kind and generous man.
The funeral date is not known yet. Probably near the end of January. I will, of course, let you know.
David has requested that his ashes be scattered at the site of the cricket ground at Golding’s.
He loved the reunions and felt that he was reunited with a second family. I would be grateful if you would inform the Old Boys and give them my love.
