Hi Dave

Thank you for putting my message on the guestbook, it is much appreciated.
Yes must keep the site going as I didn't go through 3 years of hardship, hunger and that bloody bugle in the mornings for nothing.

Hello Les Dawkins, how are you doing mate? I was always known as Sid (someone in Stepney, when I was admitted (age 11) assumed that was how it was spelt) and was a bit of a bastard in both senses of the word, I'll admit. I'm planning a trip to your little island next year. Who knows, perhaps we could meet for a tinny?

I check our page every day look forward to the comments, I am still hoping to make the reunion just have to get Dr ok so I can get insurance, been a bit rough down here what with cyclone Debbie causing havoc we lost our tractor shed and our dam overflowed for days apart from that we were lucky. not able to do much these days, loosing use of hands, a really bad back, unable to walk far and just plain getting old, but still enjoying life, still do the shopping, Joyce keeps me going dishes up my pills takes me to hospital appointments she still keeps well (thank goodness)

This is a letter I intend to send to the Readers Letters of the Sun, Daily Mirror, Express, Daily Mail and other popular News Papers including my local paper in the Midlands, Express and Star. Could some of you lads who come on the site try and do the same, many thanks.

As Wimbledon draws closer could I just remind your readers that the William Baker Technical School, Goldings, Hertford, Herts were the former Ball Boys at Wimbledon from 1946 to 1966 and were considered by many professional pundits as the finest. The school was a former Dr Barnardo home for boys with the intention to teach them a trade for when they left at 16,but the printers left at 21.The School housed 200 boys but only 60 went onto Wimbledon, so behaviour vastly improved two months before Wimbledon when training commence for the event. Every year since 1957 we hold our school reunion in Hertford, this year it will be fifty years since it closed in 1967 and the youngest will be in their mid 60's so we are appealing to your readers that if they know of any former boys from the school to contact us on our site www.goldings.org or via your newspaper as our reunion this year is on the 7th of October in Hertford and more details and old photographs are also on our site. We are encouraged and supported by Barnardo’s for this event.
