Terry (Burgur)if you are looking in I was speaking to Billy Knight today and he assures me that was you on the photo taken on the site with the giant Easter Egg by the Chapel,Billy was there in 1955-58 do you remember him?
He also has another photo of some of the boys and a staff member taking it out of the box which he is sending to me so if it is you if you won't a copy tell me,best regards to all Dave.
P.S. Billys brother is over from Oz, Ronald Knight and he tells me he lives in a little town in Oz called Cambroon,Nr Kenilworth,Queensland and he reminded me of the boys who trained the Jackdaw at Goldings as he was injured on one of the windows in the dorm and one day Mrs Wheatley went to feed it but unknown to her the boys had taught it some choice anglo saxon words!!and it chose to repeat one of the words to her that day, see,we had other talents other than our trades!!

I remember Terry Burgur well and can still picture him as a teenager. Not too tall and a little wiry, I think. I found his account of life at Goldings in the 1950's to be both interesting and pretty accurate.

its so sad to here about the passing of some of our old friends at Goldings. But then you read a book like don't come crying home which was fantastic well done Eric. And yes I am one of those who was barracking for the Aussies after living in Aus for 50 years now, I am sure they wont stay in the UK for long. its great reading all of your letters I just wish I was closer so I could come over for a reunion, hope one day. Take care all
