Hi Dave,
Nice article from Reg Howitt. As I recall, I was on 'lorry duty' for a couple of weeks. To start the lorry one had to use the crank handle. Being rather a small chap I found starting the truck pretty scary. If you didn't crank it correctly, it would 'kick back' and could break your thumb, so Mr Whitbread had to start it. Regards Reg
