its so sad to here about the passing of some of our old friends at Goldings. But then you read a book like don't come crying home which was fantastic well done Eric. And yes I am one of those who was barracking for the Aussies after living in Aus for 50 years now, I am sure they wont stay in the UK for long. its great reading all of your letters I just wish I was closer so I could come over for a reunion, hope one day. Take care all

The full and unedited version has been donated to us by Terry Burgar of his life spent in Dr Barnardo's to share with us on the site.
It was published in the Guild Messenger but it was edited.Perhaps it may prompt others to do the same before the memories are lost forever about the good and not so good of life in Dr Barnardo's. Click on the front page to read it,or on the stories page.
