News and latest development in the Goldings gossip column.
Have been informed today that Master Peter Drummond became engaged to Ann on new years day. Our sympathy to Ann!! "because a puppy is for life, not just Christmas"! The forthcoming union will be on April the 1st, in MacAndrew house, Bader wing. Of cause, many gifts will no doubt follow, but a request from Ann for no more XXXXX Warmers, as the last six she has had to unravel, but she did make a nice coaster with the wool. A guard of honour on the day will be carried out by Goldings Old Boys, and will form up by the ablutions.

IT HAS BEEN MANY YEARS NOW,WHEN I WAS JUST A BOY.
THAT I HAD THE GOOD FORTUNE FOR ME TO ENJOY.
YOUNG MEN OF SIMILAR CIRCUMSTANCE, I THINK WE REALISED LATER.
THE NAME OF THIS PLACE,OF COURSE WAS
"WILLIAM BAKER"
WITHIN MY TIME SPENT AT THIS PLACE, AND I THINK OTHERS MAY AGREE.
THERE WERE MANY BOYS AT THIS SCHOOL WHO FELT THEY HAD TO FLEE.
A SHEET OR BLANKET WAS SOMETIMES USED,
ALONG WITH CUNNING AND GUILE.
TO TRY AND ESCAPE THE RIGOUROUS REGIME,
LOOKING BACK NOW IT DOES MAKE ME SMILE.
MANY OF THESE YOUNG MEN EVERY YEAR,
RETURN TO THIS PLACE THAT HELD SUCH FEAR.
SIT BACK, AND REMINISCE, LETS SHED NO TEARS.
AT THIS I WISH YOU ALL THE HAPPIEST OF NEW YEARS.
