Clicking on the carpenters shop there is a photograph of Mr Farnham (Spike) with Chris Hornsnell Mid 60s.
I believe I am the boy and it is not Chris Hornsnell. I believe the work being undertaken at the time was the rear leg of a teak bench which I made for the old peoples club in Herford town.
I contibuted many articles to the web site run by Frank Cooke (goldonian.org)which no longer exists.
I am happy to add to your site if you are interested.

Like Reg,I remember Boski Stewart very well. His nickname came from the fact that he was short sighted and wore old fashioned thin spectacles which gave the impression that he had a squint in one eye. He was 3/4 years older than me which would make him approx. 82 now. Boski was a very talented sportsman - clever footballer and spin bowler. I can recall one particular incident he was involved with which became part of our family lore. He had a good friend called Johnny Knight (they were ball boys together at Wimbledon) who rather fancied my sister Celia. My father was called downstairs one evening because surprisingly they had been fighting. On examination, my father found out that Boski had been excluded from the football team because he wouldn't apologise concerning some incident. Johnny had told him he was crazy not to do so and Boski had responded by saying "well, we all know what you are crazy about" ie my sister! Fisticuffs quickly followed. Another little reminiscence of life growing up at Goldings. If he is the right Stewart and still with us, I would like to be remembered to him.

Hi everyone,

What another wonderful Golding's reunion we had last weekend and it was nice to see so many familiar faces again. The award to David Wheatley was well deserved as he has been attending for many years now and of course many of us remember him when he was at Golding's.

Last Thursday morning I had my visit to the hospital for my biopsy results and sadly there was no better news than before. I will commence Chemo in just over two weeks time. Without it, I have been given 3 month's, with it, 3 - 8 month's but despite the news, I have no intention of giving up the fight.

Before the treatment, I will take a holiday, for which I have the hospitals support. My Golding's friend David Barlow(of 54 years)and his wife Dawn flew out to Portugal last Tuesday to celebrate his birthday on October 15th. On receiving my news on Thursday morning, Dawn immediately telephoned me suggesting we tried to join them. By late that afternoon we had been to the travel agent's and booked and will have seven nights with them arriving tomorrow evening. If this is to be my last holiday, I can't think of better friends to spend it with. Again it goes to show how united the Barnardo family are.
