It is 56 years today, Sunday 4th January 1959 that I left Golding's & returned to live back in my home city of Nottingham.
I left with both woodworking and leather working skills which kept me in employment for most of my working life until my retirement at Christmas 2009. Like most former Golding's boys, I owe so much to the staff at the WBTS for sending me out into the big wide world with the life skills to enjoy a wonderful life after spending almost 10 years in Barnardo care.
On leaving, I was not to know that I would ever return again but thanks to our reunions, this has proved to be the case and has enabled me to keep in touch with so many of my Golding's brothers and staff.
Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy and healthy new year.

I'd like to take this opportunity before I go out to start celebrating, to wish everyone Old Boys and Staff a very Happy New Year, I hope you all enjoyed your christmas and we will all meet again next year at our Reunion.
Also a little reminder that in our large family there are Old boys and girls who are alone at Christmas and New year and we are thinking of them too.
