I Was so sad to read the posting with regards to Brian Perrier. My thoughts are with Ellen and all the family through these difficult times. I cannot begin to think what it must be like to receive such devastating news. Brian has not been in the best of health for a few years now as we all know but he has continued to play a huge part in our Golding's reunions.
We can all only hope that what ever time Brian has left, he remains comfortable and pain free as possible. I know he will have his family around him in addition to his Golding's family who I'm sure will be thinking of him. Good luck Brian

Today I have been given the terrible news by Ellen (Perrier),Brians wife, that Brian has Lung,Liver, and Hip Cancer. He is just waiting to go home from hospital as he has been given two months to live.I will be going to see Brian next week, and hope to send him our best wish's from all of us.As we all know Brian and his family are the major contributor's to the success of our re-union and will be sadly missed. He and his family have been coming to, and later helping with our re-union since 1986.I will keep you all posted.

It is 56 years today, Sunday 4th January 1959 that I left Golding's & returned to live back in my home city of Nottingham.
I left with both woodworking and leather working skills which kept me in employment for most of my working life until my retirement at Christmas 2009. Like most former Golding's boys, I owe so much to the staff at the WBTS for sending me out into the big wide world with the life skills to enjoy a wonderful life after spending almost 10 years in Barnardo care.
On leaving, I was not to know that I would ever return again but thanks to our reunions, this has proved to be the case and has enabled me to keep in touch with so many of my Golding's brothers and staff.
Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy and healthy new year.
