Hi, Dave.
I’m so sorry to have been out of contact. My partner (filmmaking and romantic) Denise’s father has been terribly ill in Portugal, so we’ve been taken away from work somewhat. Very sadly, he died this afternoon. Denise is in Portugal now, and it is highly likely that I will fly out there tomorrow or Friday. So, with great regret, I won’t be in Hertfordshire on Saturday to shoot your film. I am really sorry to have raised your hopes, but I’ll make you this promise: on the assumption that I’m still living in Goldings Hall next year, we’ll make your film next October.
Please apologise on my behalf to the Old Boys, and do feel free to explain the circumstances.
I hope your Goldings visit goes well, and I look forward to talking with you again next year.
