Dave, have just found out that we have lost another Old Boy. John Woods passed away on the 18th December. He was school captain, drum major and was trained in the tinsmiths. John was a great entertainer and sang under the name Johnny Silvo.
Our condolences to Berit and son Patrick.

I now know christmas is almost hear with the messages that are appearing on our great Goldings web site.
My Christmas started last Tuesday when Margaret and I visited the Camp site in the centre of London on the occassion of the Barnardo Carol Concert which took place in St Pauls Cathedral. With a 2,500 sell out(It was free for all Barnardo old boys and girls), What a super event it was, and for those who missed it, I would suggest that you all book early for next year as I understand it is to become an annual event. You may remember Dylan Carrol who attended the last two Golding reunions with me, He played Father Christmas and was brilliant. It made me realise and remember from my time in Barnardos, just how committed and versatile members of Barnardo staff were and still are.
It just remains for Margaret and I to wish all former boys and staff, along with your families, a very, very happy christmas and prosperous new year for 2012

To old "Bluenose" we all I am sure would like to wish you a merry xmas with all the best for 2012 and many thanks for all your work on behalf of Barnardo old boys and girls, especially the memorial for Goldings.
I'd like to finish this message with a reminder to you and Friar Tuck from Sherwood Forest that the only way your teams will get into Europe again is if they become M.E.P.!
