So sorry to hear the sad news about Woody, RIP, Many years ago one of my friends was trying to contact me through the Web site, before Dave took over,Woody went to the trouble of contacting me by phone to let me know, that led to many years of meeting again and I will always be very grateful. Our thoughts are with his family. John S

The front page changes, and both click on's,with a message of Woodies passing R.I.P. Woody, because without your support those few short years back the reunion could have been lost forever of that I am convinced, but like a true Goldonian you came charging in with both barrels firing to remove a problem that threatened us,we are truly indebted to you.

My Christmas at Goldings started when we used to take the boys going home for Christmas to catch the train. We used to carry their case to the station, they paid us a shilling. We used to run back and do the same as many times as I we could .Once they had all gone , our Christmas started, all meals was served out at the top of the table by all the Staff including Mr Wheatley , it was great we got our fair share of food ,as when the Prefects gave it out his friends got any extra that was going . I think Christmas was the only time we got Egg & Bacon for breakfast. We used to get Chocolate from Canada called Optermistic it was great, also round Lyons Ice Cream ,Christmas at Goldings I thought was quite good . Happy Christmas to all boys & girls, also to Staff that were at Goldings & Dr Barnardo's Homes, not forgetting all our Friends that live at Goldings now. We hope you all have a Fab Christmas & a Prosperous New Year.
