This is a puzzle taken from one of the first Goldonians printed at Goldings.
(1)What is the greatest amount of current silver coins one can have without being able to change a 10/- note? (remember this refers to £ s d)
(2)Seven apple women went to market with 20, 40, 60, 80, 100, 120, and 140, apples respectively. They all sold their apples, charged exactly the same price, yet each brought back precisely the same amount of money. What was the price? The answers to these two puzzles are somewhere on the site!!
