2 emails I recieved a couple of weeks ago when Bob left to work in the Bahamas ( some people are jammy )
Hello Dave, and everyone
Just a quick note to let you know Bob got away ok today to the Bahamas.
He will not land until aprox. midnight tonight (3 legs of the journey !!!) so I doubt I'll hear from him until tomorrow.
As soon as I know he has landed safely I will let you know.
I will be here in the UK for another couple of weeks before I join him (just to tie up loose ends etc.), so please feel free to contact me any time.

Bob has just phoned. He had such a long journey. He didn't arrive until 3am today.

Dear David,
I was pleased to receive my invitation to the reunion but, regretably, I am not fit enough (or wealthy enough) to make the trip from the lonely prairies to Hertford. I hope you have a happy and successful reunion and, if there are any who remember a real old Housemaster of Aberdeen House, please give them my address...I would enjoy hearing from them. I am already in regular contact, mostly via e-mail, with about a dozen Dickies men.. ex Much Wenlock, Goldings and Templecombe..but would enjoy adding to the list. Every good wish....Jack Johnstone

I WOULD LIKE TO THANK POP STEELE, AND JIMMY JAMES FOR THE LOAN OF THE GOLDONIANS. ALONG WITH RAY BROCKLEHURST, AND ROBERT WHIBLEY WHO ARE ALSO LOANING ME SOME. WE NOW HAVE THE FIRST ONE 1927 UP TO CLOSING IN 67 WITH JUST A FEW MISSING IN MAINLY THE WAR YEARS. I WOULD LIKE TO COLLECT ALL THE MAGS WITH THE INTENTION OF RE-PRODUCING ON THE SITE AND COPIED FOR ANY OLD BOY TO READ AT THE RE-UNION, AND POSSIBLY RE- PRINTED FOR ANY WHO WANTS A COPY AT COST. PERHAPS WE COULD OPEN UP THE OLD PRINT SHOP AND GET SOME OF THE PRINTERS TO DO THEM ON THE SIDE???.
FRED BARNES IS ALSO DIGGING UP SOME HISTORY OF GOLDINGS TO DISPLAY AT THE RE-UNION, AND LATER TO BE INCLUDED ON THE SITE. THIS MATERIAL WILL BE ORIGINAL, NOT OBTAINED FROM ANY OTHER SOURCE WHOS INTENTIONS ARE DEBATABLE.
IN 2006 HERTFORD MUESEUM HAVE INVITED US TO DISPLAY IMFORMATION ON GOLDINGS FOR THERE PROJECT ON WATERFORD VILLAGE.
AS GOLDINGS, ALONG WITH THE ABEL SMITH FAMILY HAD A MAJOR INFULENCE ON THIS VILLAGE.
OUR REUTERS REPORTER "WOODY" IS BUSY RE-CREATING THE GOLDONIAN CIRCA 2005 FOR THE RE-UNION, SO FEEL FREE VIA THE GUEST BOOK IF YOU FEEL YOU HAVE AN IDEA FOR IT, AS IT GOES INTO PRINT MID SEPTEMBER.
