John Horn 42-45
Hi Dave.
I doubt very much that story of A war time incident is true, as you know I spent three years of the war at goldings and I would have heard tell by the older boys who told loads of stories of events that happened before my time there, as far as I know we had no armoury at goldings until maybe when the cadet corp. started up but that was after the war, we only had a A.T.C unit in goldings and had to go to a school in Hertford on a Friday night for instruction.
A story like that would have been highly publicized in the press and most certainly by the Hertfordshire Mercury,
I defend my Goldings brothers in that this incident never happened where Goldings boys were involved so I rest my case.
