When thet went to Dymchurch Camp,Ernie Dawson and Dougie Pugh aquired? some butter and smeared it all over them with a view to trying to swim the channel!

Have forwarded the latest info on Arthur Deamer, received today from
my ex business associate
Latest known info as of today 27 January 2012 (about a week old)
...still awaiting update from Hans, his son) Arthur Deamer, one of the most healthily robust senior ex Goldings Boy aged 87 had an emergency operation during a regular Christmas visit to his son who lives in Rhode Island U.S.A.
Whilst there, he had to have his Gall bladder removed, which apparently was in very bad shape. The bladder was removed but in doing so he sustained some serious damage to his bile duct
He is currently still in the Rhode Island Hospital, building up his
strength prior to undergoing another operation, this time to remove a stone which is evidently actually stuck in his bile duct.
Assuming a satisfactory procedure, he will convalesce with his family for an estimated 6 weeks before he is fit enough to fly back More information as it comes in......................

I would like to thank everyone for their kindness and thoughtfulness in sending me good wishes for my birthday. I cannot believe I am now 80, surely a mistake must have been made on my birth certificate, I have not reached my prime yet! However the extra 25p increase in my pension will come in handy.

OK so I go on about our sunny weather,
we have had nearly 12inch of rain this week so far with forecasts of lots more to come lots of areas flooding, we are unable to get out of our drive 8inch water over it running very fast, BUT in Perth and Adelaide its in the high 30s to mid 40s. at least I get a rest from cutting grass
