I can recall we used to be given fatigue's for bad behavior usually by Skipper Culver. One fatigue, you was given a small cleaning job sat morning,2 fatigues sat and sun mornings usualy lasted about an hour each.3 fatigues you was given a Saturday afternoon.4 fatigues you was given a weekend default and was made to wear blazer and shorts at assembly and parade ground. You had to work all weekend, kitchen peeling spuds, scrubbing floors, shoveling coke, all the other dirty jobs.We called this the chain gang,I was on it very often.

I am sure that John Sansom is right about the piano player - the Rev. Sidney Corbett - quite a character who moved on to be Chaplain at Trent College in Nottingham.
