Hi Dave can you put this on our web site. Sorry to say but one of our Matron's from New Lodge has passed away on Sunday 5th of September, her name is Cathy Fowler she was a Matron in the Cottage from 1947 till it closed in 1956 Our condolance goes to her Husband Len & Son. Sad loss will and will be rememberd by all that was at New Lodge

Welcome aboard Steven Horsley Goldings 1948-52,Prefect,House Captain,and for two years School Captain, No 167 Kinnaird.Many thanks for your story about your life and Barnardo's which will be put on the memories section shortly. Also welcome to David S. Swinger from Scotland, Goldings 53-54-55 and is also attending the reunion,and it's been 55 years since he last visited Goldings.So nice to see you on the parade ground once more!

Hi Dave. regarding the letter you received about Alfred Keen,I knew a boy by the name of Keen during my years at goldings, he was already in the tinsmiths shop when I went into shop in october 1942 and left goldings 1943 or 44 I never knew is first name his nickname could very well be buster as he was a bit of a lad and had quite a bust up with Mr de Boeck who punched him and gave him a bloody nose Keen then went off to report him to the Governor with Mr De boeck chasing after him he never came back to the tinsmiths but shortly after went out on a job, I remember his best mate called Edwards also put in a complaint to the Governor and I'm pretty sure he left the same time as Keen. During the war one could volunteer to join up at seventeen and half instead of being called up at eighteen so he could have gone to the far east and been taken prisoner.

Just been informed by his wife Barbara that Jim Mcallister passed away early this year.Jim was at Goldings in the 50's Please, from all of us accept our condolence's
