The importance of being a Goldings Boy

Without disclosing any names but one of our old boys has a problem with his partner and I'm trying to help them, so I suggested they go to a Counselling which they did do yesterday and he's just rang me back with the outcome.So I said what did he do Peter? Well he said to Ann,tell me what your problem is?
Neglect,lack of intimacy,emptiness,loneliness,feeling unloved and unlovable,an entire laundry of un-met needs she has endured over the time they have been together.
Finally,after allowing this to go on for some time the therapist got up and walked around his table,and after asking Ann to stand up he embraced her and kissed her passionately and fondled intimately.
The therapist turned to Peter and said "This is what she wants at least three times a week!
At this Peter thought for a moment and then replied "I'll drop her here Monday and Wednesday but can't make it Friday I'm going to the reunion!

My next door neighbour who is a plumber has just left his wife Flo after 37 years,he just up and went and it's quite a shock to us all.He assure's me that it's not with anyone else! He just left a note in the kitchen to her and she's terribly upset because all it said after 37 years is "It's over Flo"

I'm not sure if Les was a Goldings Boy Len,I haven't traced him in any of the Goldonian's or Guild Messenger's we have, but even so another Barnardo boy less from this fast shrinking family.I'm sure all of us offer our sympathy to his family and friends.

Hi Dave I dont know if you knew a Les Cork. I dont know if he went to Goldings, but he was at New Lodge from 1949-55. so sorry to say that he Passed away on the 21st of August after a long Illness. on behalf of all the boys that knew him , our Condolence goes to his Wife & family sad loss.
