David the book of naughty boys should not be shown on the web, what the old boys have written about themselves and any punishment is ok,to publish names may not go down well with some of the lads. Just a thought. Clive.

For those who are not aware Barnardo's are moving part of their admin to another area of London, and amongst the items discovered by Martine is Mr Wheatleys punishment book from Goldings which they have sent to me in the post.Looking through it is very interesting reading!Dated from April the 1st 1945 (Thats the day Mr Wheatley and his family officially arrived) to July 1966! Many names from my era who I always thought were lickers are amongst us in the book for various reasons, but mainly running away (Bunking off) or smoking.David Blower,Peter Drummond,Tony Angell, and many others.I will start tommorrow morning to write out the list so you can all see if you were "naughty boys"

Hi Dave Thought this might interest you for your Wimbledon Section, it was written on the front page of the Daily Mail on Thurs July 4th 1957, I got this bit from the Newspaper Library at Colindale Ave. London when I was doing a bit of research in 1997. There was another paper involved but I couldn't remember which, it could have been the People or the the Daily Herald of the time, I remember it well because they had written a stupid story that my favourite food was toffee apples, which irritated me at the time. Anyway its yours to do what you want with, by the way they forgot to put the E at the end of my name. Otherwise things are going reasonable well, I had a tumour on my left Kidney 1 half years ago,so they took them both out, they then discovered that they had accidently cut into my spleen during the opp. so they reopperated and had to take the spleen out as well, I was a month in ITU but survived ( WONDERFUL PEOPLE THAT WORK THERE ). they have now found a small piece of cancer on my remaining Kidney, I’m getting that burnt of next week AT St Thomas London, RFA they call it and with a bit of luck they can save the rest of the Kidney and I should be OK. Well all the best and with a bit of luck I’ll see you at the next reunion. Jim Dixie Deane
