Clive,I stand corrected but would only ever admit this to another Somerset member.
Bob (Aussie)and Alan (The Forest Fugitive)I've had a word with the Vicar and on the Memorial Day he has agreed to you two Choir Boys doing a turn to satisfy your 50's yearning and your disagreement to the Hymns,so he has agreed for you both to dress up as Ned Kelly and Rupert Murdoch on the day and to sing in the Vestery "Waltzing Matilda".Permission for this rare request has been granted by Simon Cowell who agrees if you both sing in tune he may grant you both a spot on X Factor!

As I recall at spring 55 there were 4 juniors and 4 seniors.
Juniors = Buxton, Pelham, McCall,Kinnaird
Seniors = Somerset, Cairns, Aberdeen, Mount Stephen.I thought these were still the houses when I left at Christmas 1957,or has my memory gone. Welcome home Richard I really think I should know you. I was in Buxton then Somerset, where all the best were placed. See you all in October, safe journey Aussie Bob.

Richard, when you came into Goldings Spring 1955 there was 3 junior house,s Kinnaird,Buxton,and Pelham.Then there was 4 Senior House's,Somerset(the best house and happened to be mine)Cairns,Mount Stephen,and the newly formed house McCall.Yes we did have crystal sets,sometimes made by the staff,when I arrived the Transistor Radio was becoming popular mid 60's which bought about the demise of the crystal set,but I have obtained one off e-bay which is displayed at the re-union.I have put together a package for you to post shortly which will help you with your memories! fond I hope of Goldings!All our best regards from "Dickies"

Yes Richard the lucky few had sets we kept them in shoe boxes like you at 73 my memory is not to good, as a printer I remember being on the committee that ran the tuck shop at the old boys hut by the chapel Inky Stevenson was the master in charge we had to shut it down due to continueing break ins and theft (to think Goldings boys would do such a thing)Richard are you going to make the Reunion
