Hi Dave What an interesting article by the late Bill Cotton on his time at Goldings. I had the pleasure of meeting him again at a reunion in the old sick bay, he organised the reunions at that time, and what a good job he did. He was running his own printing firm at that time, it goes to show what a great start in life Goldings gave us!. Bill mentioned Mr Moon and the time in the showers, we had an NCO in the RAF who was the image of him and just as funny! It was a great shock to hear Bill had passed away so early in his life, I'm only thankful to have to have met him and enjoyed his company John S

I have just returned from the funeral of Dorothy Halfhide held at Loughborough Crematorium. A small gathering of family and friends attended. The congregation heard dot's grandaughter, Kathleen, read a moving story entitled "Memories of my Granny". The service included two hymms, 'Make me a channel of your peace' and 'One more step along the world I go'. After the service I was invited to attend The Ceders Hotel for refreshments. I was able to meet and talk with the family along with two Goldings old boys, Bob Pegg and Dick Rowen, who attended. RIP Dot.

Hello Dave a donation will be on its way soon. I wonder if you have any more Goldonian mags, there is one with a photo of me in it. I dont know which year it was. If you can find it in your vast archive it would be great to have a copy.
Hello Bill Roe, I dont think I remember you. You were in Mount Stephen House, I was in Pelham house then. The crystal sets we had then was a good form of entertainment for us then. We would take turns on it we only had the one in our house as far as I can remember, but it was great. We never had TV'S in those days. Great to hear from you Bill and maybe I will be in touch soon. With regards to you all.
Richard.
