Len,sorry I didn't reply to your message sooner but I hope your visit to Hospital went O.K.The reference to the site about no information after the 16th March also happens to be my birthday so the last message on the site prior to the fiasco!was the 16th and people wishing me happy birthday but it also means we have lost important messages since, particular about two old boys who have just found the site,so if you are still looking in please contact the site once more,Ray Lazell was one.The question regarding paying towards the site,when I set this up, one condition was I would fund it personally...that I request to you all it continue's until it may change somewere in later years but the one thing I owe to the school is to give something back that they gave to me!and the Cheque Book which belongs to ALL Goldings Old Boys is only used to for the original purpose THE RE-UNION,as thats how things went wrong before me, but will never happen on my watch...but many thanks for the thought!
Brian Cunningham rang me last night to tell me he has completed the London to Brighton Veterans Car Owners Club run, and all his donations will go to Barnardo's,and he arrived LAST,but like all former Aberdeen boys,this was common at Goldings for them to be in this position,as we used to say "Aberdeen was the strongest house as they held the rest of us all up"

Dave sorry to read that you have had major problems, you should not be out of pocket on behalf of the web site, the expense should really come from all of us, at the next reunion this should be raised and a collection taken to help pay for the site. I hope this brings some response from some of the lads. In the meantime many thanks for all the time and effort your family has put in to keep the site running.

Over the last week you may have been aware that the site was closed, this was due to incompetence on behalf of the latest server for the site. The original server we have since discovered passed our site onto server 2,this was then on the 16th of March of this year past onto sever 3!who decided in their unprofessional manner in my opinion to delete from the guest book everything after March the 16th and due to us not responding to their "Technical Reaction" decided to switch of the site!!!
After contacting them on premier charged phone calls, told us we would have to e-mail them only, but as we told them we no longer have that facility due to lack of customer liaison, and instructions that we received which to us was like trying to read "The Dead Sea Scrolls" and this came about after me paying for two more years to continue with our site two months prior (strange that one, as was this the time server number 2 decided to pass us on?) At great expense we had to call out P.C. Homehelp, and Lee has finally restored most of the information for us, but Mal will have to spend hours now uploading pages from the site to restore the status quo! Guest messages after this date (16th March) they are trying to locate! But I don't hold much faith so far with my dealings with them. In the past we could post all messages to the site direct, but now we have a 24-day access after which we have to apply for another 24 days (Maximum allowed)
At the earliest opportunity I will move on to a more practical and professional company who appreciates that customers are important and are a source of income for their salary! So if you can all just bear with me as all is not resolved yet. (Many thanks to Tony Angell in showing such concern about the site).
