Letter sent to Mrs Halfhide Daughter today.
Hello Jeannette, you don’t know me, but I was once a Goldings Boy 1962-65,Somerset House under Skipper Culver. Pop has e-mailed me about your Mother Mrs Halfhide and we would all like to send our condolence’s to you and your family as she was one of the outstanding characters that made our time at Goldings that little more enjoyable. Every year the standard your mother made for the Cadets takes pride of place at our re-union, what a wonderful piece of devoted workmanship, and is virtually in the same condition when she made it.
From all Goldings Old Boys and Staff.

I have Dot’s daughter Jeannettes address. If anyone needs it please contact me. Jeannette on her card she sent me said donations to Barnardos or flowers if prepared. I think a spray of flowers from the Goldings boys would be a wonderful gesture.

Hello Dave and fellow Goldings friends. I received an interesting e-mail from Rob Smith, on Friday last, on the subject of crystal sets. Rob went into some detail of how we got them, and how much they cost, and how they were made, and how some of the parts were aquired! some of the lads would plunder public telephones for the copper wire and other parts.
It was great to hear from Rob, he was at Aberader and at Goldings, in the 1950's about the same time as I. You never know who is going to turn up out of the blue when you post your details on the web. There is always someone out there who knows you.
Yes Dave I would like to make a donation to the reunion. Who do I send the the donation to and who do I pay, is it the Goldings Old Boys Association.
I hope you all have a great reunion and it goes well and the weather keeps fine. I wish I could come to the reunion but my health is not too good. I will be looking forward to seeing this years reunion pictures on the Website.
Dave I would to have the DVD of the Prince of Wales opening Goldings, and the CD of the cadet band. Many thanks to you, with regards to you all.
