Hello Alan, and Bob from Australia, thank you for getting in touch. Its great to hear from you. What a surprise it was for me too, that someone remembers me from Barkingside and Goldings. I found the Goldings website in the latest issue of the Guild Messenger. I sent an e-mail to Val at Making Connections at Barnardos in Barkingside, last week letting her know how I am. And I told her that I am trying to get in touch with old friends from Barnardos, , Then I came across the Goldings website. As you say Alan I have discovered the best website in the UK. Its like coming home to old friends. , When I was at Barkingside, I do remember Mr Cooke and his wife. My memories of those days are a bit dull. I do remember you Alan, but I cant remember what we used to get up to or went. It would be great if you have any photos of those times, or are there any photos on the website.
I am 71 now I live in Batley West Yorkshire. I was a joiner all of my working life. I served two years in the army when I was 18. Anyway Alan this is just an introduction of me. I hope to in the future support this great website as much I can. I do not remember what house I was in at Goldings, as I say my memory is not good. I do remember some things about Goldings, like the badge and blazer we used to wear then, very smart I thought. And I think I was in the cadets and the band under the command of captain Culver, skipper, a great man I liked him. And Mr Wheatley the head master, pinhead. I think I liked most of the staff then but I don't remember many of them. I did come from Hereford then, As I say I do not remember which I was in at Goldings, or what trade I was doing, it might have been joinery. Any friends I hope that we can keep in touch and remember old times. With best regards to you all Richard T Butt. And thank you all at the Goldings Guest Book.

I don't think us 60's lads have much to fear from boys who wore "Crepe" shoes and lookalike Bill Hailey, where once there was a "Kiss Curl" now occupied by bald patch! It was us who ended the American domination of "Pop Music" Bring your boots to the reunion "Game On"
