Throughout the lifetime of Goldings, the more senior Goldings Old Boys looked upon the 60's lads as not strictly children of Barnardo's in the true sense, but from local authorities in the main, which was partly true, and without a doubt in my circumstance was the case.Trouble makers and delinqents we were certainly considered to be,and not really true Goldings material, and sometimes with just cause! prone to fighting especially between the "houses" and typical of the lax! 60's attitude's that prevailed. This now brings me to the following story. Football Notes. Somerset House. We beat McCall 6-1,drew with Cairns and Aberdeen. To date,we have obtained six points out of a possible eight. The fourth match, against Mt Stephen, was not played to the finish, due to the behaviour of some of our players. The incidents in this game were most regrettable, and we hope in the future the offending members will exercise a more manly control over their emotions. The backbone of sport is the spirit it is played in. THE YEAR? 1935! Which goes to show we were a handful even in those days! This is a tonque in cheek observation by me! Boys will be Boys whatever Era!

Just before we change the front page for an earlier image,Bobby Mac has rang in to say he thinks the right hand top photo is in the white shirt Raymond Allen (Johnny Allen's brother) Goldonian Summer 1964. Raymond Allen, from Cheltenham Cairns. He also thinks the other is Alan? Atkins. Goldonian Winter 1965 from Barkingside Cairns. Anyone else want to have a stab at the names before we put one of the earlist image's of Ball Boys that we have from Goldings.
