Well done Bob,four more to go.John Mercury is to the right, front row! I wasn't aware that football had reached Tamworth, last time I went there I was introduced to a fella chewing on straw, and I said to him "what time they kick off?" He said "what time can you make it" Here's one for you Bob Whats the difference between a Kangeroo, and a Kangeroot? A Kangeroo is a animal that lives in Australia. A Kangeroot is a Geordie stuck in a lift! Over to you Pop and Tommy Hill!

CALLING FORMER RESIDENTS AT CORRIS HOUSE, MUCH WENLOCK, SHROPSHIRE!! It's known that many boys from Corris House went on to train at Goldings, and we are trying to make contact with as many old boys as possible. After fifty years, Corris House closed its doors as a Dr Barnardo's Home in 1979. The building is now used as a care home, but the staff are aware of the building's original important use, and would like to celebrate it by bringing together as many Corris House old boys and staff as can be mustered, for reminiscences and afternoon tea. The celebration is planned for Saturday 13th August 2011, and if you would like to go, or to know more about it, please contact the manager of Wheatlands Care Home, Fran Sharp, on 01952 728497, or Sheena Taylor at sheenam.taylor@btinternet.com

Message sent to the residents of Goldings
|
Hello Paul, I am now in the throes of printing the re-union invitation but would first of all pass this by you and the residents before I continue. We will have our Memorial Sevice at Waterford Church at 11-30 untill approx 12-00, and then hopefully with you and the residents permission spend untill 3'o'Clock in and around the grounds before I get them to assemble where once we would all assemble "on Parade" as we called it for one more time for our memories and to hopefully to play the "Bugle Calls" once more for "Old Times Sake" which will make a very nostalgic photo for all of us, as our lives revolved around the "Bugle" and the numerous parade's which we did throughout our time spent at Goldings. If any part of this request is inpractical please don't hesitate to tell me as just going into Goldings is a pleasure in it's self! My regards to you all, and many thanks for your enthusiastic support throughout Dave.
P.S. I will hire a coach again (56 seater) to take the Old Boys up to the Church to help with parking, I am also trying to contact the caretaker of Waterford Village Hall requesting the use their car park on the day. Also to form three parties of visitors on the day to make it all more orderly for everyone.
