How wonderful that more of our Goldings brothers are surfacing as the years roll on. Two days ago it was Richard Butt who found the Goldings site. For those of us who receive the Guild Messenger, Terry Whitehead is featured in the latest edition. I was a friend of Terry during his stay at Goldings. Terry went to Goldings in 1957) Dave Barlow and myself placed a message on the site some years ago as we were trying to trace him. Dave lost contact with him some 40 years ago. Terry and Dave were great friends and played in the School football and cricket teams. I'm sure there will be many who remember Terry. WATCH OUT YOU 60s LADS, YOU ARE BEING INVADED BY "GOLDINGS BEST" , THE LADS OF THE 50s!!!

I now have all the details for the Memorial Service and the reunion complete, and will shortly post them on the reunion page, but the same details will be on the reunion invite which will be going out shortly in the post.I have to send them to Barnardo,s who then post them to old boys as they insist they retain the address of old boys they are in contact with, which they say is confidential to Barnardo,s, but were I do have someones address I post direct to them, but if you know of anyone who does not receive one please let me know! The list of who is attending as always will be posted on the re-union page Dave. P.S. I forgot! welcome back Richard once more to "Dickies"

Hello Richard, What a pleasant surprise to see your message on the Goldings site. I often think of you and wonder where you ended up. Like myself, I think you were also a mate of David Kimber. I'm sure you will remember me. We were best mates at Barkingside where Ray & Marjorie Cooke were our house parents. I was in Mignonette cottage from 1951 -1953 then the entire household moved across the green to Hyacinth cottage. I remained there until going to Goldings in 1955, leaving in 1959 and returning to Nottingham. I recall you being in Hyacinth (not sure about Mignonette) before you went to Goldings. I seem to remember you had some connection with the Hereford area(not Hertford!) I remember you comming to goldings and I was friends with Bill Charlton, Terry Whitehead and Dave Barlow to mention a few. I am still very much involved with Barnardo's and have been attending the Goldings reunions since the early 1980s. Richard, you have just discovered one of the best Web Sites in the UK. It will be great to hear from you either via e-mail or on the Goldings site and I'm sure there will be others who remember you. Take care and hope to hear from you soon.

Hello Goldings, I was in the homes from 1949. I was at Woodford bridge, Aberdare, Barkingside, and then at Goldings 1956. I am interested for anyone who might have known me then, and would like to get in contact. Thanks.
