Dave, I have read your message and have E-mailed Martine with a suggestion that might help to get Fred Barnes to the Goldings Reunion. Fingers crossed! Re the Wimbledon photo. Back row left I think is the Rev Corbett. He had the nick name of the "Iron fisted Parson" When he left Goldings, he went to "Trent College" at Long Eaton near Nottingham.

Martine,as you most probably are aware like me that Fred Barnes from Bearwood,Birminham originally researched about the boys that died at Goldings and were buried at Waterford, and made us more aware of the of this so others could look into it. We feel that he should be at the Memorial Service due to his sterling work on our behalf. We have now invited him, which he has so kindly accepted but cannot leave his wife no longer than a day due to her disability. One Old Boy has offered to pay his hotel bill for the day,but he wants to return the same day.Can you help us out on this one, also the transport will need to have wheelchair facilities as he's not to good on his legs at 79.We would be so pleased if Banardo's could help out on this occasion as he was also a Barnardo boy himself from Much Wenlock and dearly wanted to go to Goldings as a boy,but never did,so lets fulfill his aspirations at 79! Could you also in the Memorial booklet that you are organising a mention somewhere about Fred's passion and research over seven years to compile the story on Goldings and the attention that he made us aware of these boys, which was never mentioned when I was at Goldings. Many thanks in anticipation Dave and Mal.
