Enclosed is a suggestion of Hymns for the Goldings Memorial on Saturday 1st October 11-30am at Waterford. I have given you 8 Hymns which were very popular at Goldings to enable you and the organist to confirm which ones would be suitable for the service as you suggested 3 or 4,which I have placed in most popular order in use at Goldings at the time, but I will leave the ultimate choice to yourself and the organist. David Wheatley (The Headmasters son) has agreed to talk on Goldings in the time you have suggested (5 mins) Can I suggest the order that the memorial is conducted Hymn Prayer Hymn David Wheatley Hymn Then gather around the memorial stone for the last post. This is only a layman’s idea, as I bow to your experience in these matters, so feel free to alter what you feel needs change, but could you give this a little urgency as we are hoping to include this in the Memorial Booklet which Barnardo’s are organising.
And Did Those Feet in Ancient Times (8) He Who Would Valiant Be (25) O God Our Help In Ages Past (36) Praise My Soul The King of Heaven (41) The Lords My Shepherd (51) Morning Has Broken When I Survey The Wondrous Cross (60)
The numbers at the side of each Hymn are the numbers taken from the original Goldings Hymn book. C.C. Rev Brian Fairbank. Martine King Barnardo's

Well done Bob,four more to go.John Mercury is to the right, front row! I wasn't aware that football had reached Tamworth, last time I went there I was introduced to a fella chewing on straw, and I said to him "what time they kick off?" He said "what time can you make it" Here's one for you Bob Whats the difference between a Kangeroo, and a Kangeroot? A Kangeroo is a animal that lives in Australia. A Kangeroot is a Geordie stuck in a lift! Over to you Pop and Tommy Hill!

CALLING FORMER RESIDENTS AT CORRIS HOUSE, MUCH WENLOCK, SHROPSHIRE!! It's known that many boys from Corris House went on to train at Goldings, and we are trying to make contact with as many old boys as possible. After fifty years, Corris House closed its doors as a Dr Barnardo's Home in 1979. The building is now used as a care home, but the staff are aware of the building's original important use, and would like to celebrate it by bringing together as many Corris House old boys and staff as can be mustered, for reminiscences and afternoon tea. The celebration is planned for Saturday 13th August 2011, and if you would like to go, or to know more about it, please contact the manager of Wheatlands Care Home, Fran Sharp, on 01952 728497, or Sheena Taylor at sheenam.taylor@btinternet.com
