Yes Alan it is the same person.
Sunday March 22nd is a big day for Walsall Football Club,the first time in it's history they will appear at Wembley v Bristol City,it looks like the town will be empty.Their last famous footballing feat was when they beat Arsenal in 1933!and as a bonus they were given a prawn lunch.the goals were scored by Gilbert Allsop,many other players we produced locally were Alan Clarke,Bert Williams,Phil Prkes,Alan Buckley,Vinnie Samways,Colin Taylor,and many more.
Also the new pound coin was designed by a schoolboy from Walsall,and the runner up was also from my home town Queen Mary's Grammar School.
Up the Saddlers!

Dave, I have just learned about the latest Barnardo book "Don't come crying home" written by Eric fell Holden and due to be released by Amazon on March 28th.
I seem to remember during my time at Golding's there was a guy by the name of William Holden. Is he the same guy? can you enlighten me please.
