Dave Email received Mark Horn
Hi Dave,
I was not sure who or how to Contact the Goldings crew, but I know my dad would want me to let you all know of his passing on from the world. I used your website for your email address.

I’m sure you were aware from his lack of attendance at the last couple of reunion that his health was declining, still he made it to 87! Sadly since Xmas he had declined rapidly, and although he remain at home until the last minute he died this morning peacefully in hospital with most of his family in attendance.

My Dad talked with great affection for Goldings, from his memories as a boy/teenager there, and also of the reunions in his later life.

If I have the right contact, please let me know and I will provide further information if required.

Best regards,
Mark (John Mark Horn jnr)

Dave, I remember going on a trip to Wembley from Golding's in 1958 to see the F A Amateur Cup Final between Woking(3) and Ilford (0) can't remember who organised it or who went.

I look forward to reading Eric's book which has now been published. He told me at the reunion last year that he had written it - he is at most of our reunions. I'm not sure how much Golding's will figure in it but it will be an interesting read.
There is very little about Eric in the Goldonians, I remember him from my early days at Golding's. There is a little poem he wrote in the 1957 Spring edition and a mention in the 1959 Spring edition of him taking over the treasurers job for the Golding's Old Boys Association.

Most of my family went but I watched it on T.V.,as I guessed the outcome and kept the money in my pocket! They never turned up! I've just told Pop, Goldings Old Boys would have beaten them. I went to the old Wembley 18th April 1964 as a member of our School Team with the rest of our team, Pop, and Mr Whitbread. They were getting the press box's ready for the 1966 World Cup. Amateur Cup Final,Crook Town v Enfield.
