It was a very good evening in Ware. Alan's presentation was first class and a wonderful balance between giving information about Barnardos and a very interesting life story of considerable personal achievement. It would have warmed my Father's heart. What also came over to those listening was the uniqueness and depth of the Goldings family culture which is still so strong many years after the school closure.

As a young lad I remember you Alan Ives quite well, in particular didn't you have dark hair combed largely backwards and a strong forehead? I may be wrong, but I think you were School captain? I also recall my father talking well about you. Hope my memory hasn't let me down!
