Hi Dave, I am so pleased you can make it and it will be great to have some memorabilia on show. Margaret, Myself, John Spencer & David Wheatley have arranged to meet up at around 5pm at the Punch House(pub)West Street, Ware SG12 9EE for something to eat. I have requested an extra table for your display and have asked if we can set up around 6.45pm. Anyone wishing to join us at the pub or the priory are welcome.

Dave, Are you planning to attend my Golding's presentation at the Priory in Ware at 7.30pm on Monday 14th April? Ware town council asked via our web site some month's ago now if we could provide a speaker and I agreed to do it. I know you mentioned some time ago when we were speaking that you were interested and bringing along some Golding's Memorabilia, which I'm sure will interest those attending. These events I understand are well supported by the locals and only 4 a year take place. It would be great if you can make it, as this is a great opportunity to showcase Golding's to the locals and tell "the Golding's Story" I also understand that some local councillors will be attending and possibly the Mayor also. You will also see from my earlier posting that David Wheatley will also be present and I am most grateful to him. He will talk about his experience as a "Golding's Boy" I also look forward to seeing some former Golding's boys who I know live in the area. I'm sure it will be a great evening.

Continuing along the backround of finishing up at Goldings.I was as a young boy, a bit of a street urchin from London (East End of London,Canning Town)My father who was a Dr Barnardo child, who also was at Goldings decided that I needed the discipline and control that Goldings gave young boys,as it did for him and requested for Dr Barnardo's admit me to Goldings and he would contribute the cost.I arrived at Goldings September 1962,was a member of the new house Macandrew (built in 1960)I was trained to be a Carpenter, and was one bench above Blower! who was a licker to Mr Broster! I was deternined to follow in my father footsteps and join the Merchant Navy, and stayed there for 23 years.I left Goldings in Decenber 1964,and had no further use for my tools! As far as we know I was the only boy who followed his father (who was there in 1926-28 into Goldings!
