Bob and Roma, thanks for the reminder of that night at the dance. The lights were turned out and we had to choose a partner in the dark! when the lights came back on, Angel had picked "gummy" (she had no teeth) and I was saddled with "ginger" Since that dance I make sure I visit Specsaavers every year! Bob, the front page includes Mr Nixon (the only master I could not get on with) who came to Goldings in spring of 1960, so that film was around those years and not 1956 as Billy Knight thought. I don't think it's Joey and Barry but I have seen on the film Barry Hyland and he left in 1962, as I had his bench in the Carpenters shop! Have a good time Roma and Bob,hope to see you soon.

Do you remember the night that Mr Wheatley closed the weekly dance. Well I have to say I know why, as we are in Dallas, and our hotel Hyatt Regency which overlooks the place where John F. Kennedy was shot. Out of respect to our Headmaster I call him Mr But when we were at the home it was "Pinhead". I know Blower was mad, as he was hoping to pull, lol, Angel was hoping too, never mind guys!. You will always know where you were (Goldings) when you heard the news of Kennedy's death. 1963.

Yes my memory came back I remember we used to go the fair ground that used to come to Hertford, this was in 1947. Kit Carson and I agreed to box each other in the ring at the fair whioh they used to do in them days.If you one you can take the hat around and people used to put money in for you.Kit was a very good boxer, he promised me he would not beat me to much, but I am afraid he did not keep his promise as he wanted to take the hat round, he got about £6 pounds,We booked the fight, but there was no slots till 8-30 pm to fight, so it meant us getting in late, so the fair ground manager gave us a letter to say what a good performance.Mr Wheatley {Pin head} read it out the next morning after morning prayers. He was so pleased he thanked, us so we never got punished for being late in.
