Hello every body its Bluenose again just to say a very big thank you for putting my graves project on the Golding's notice board. It means such a lot to me. I should know in a few weeks hopefully the numbers of our brothers and sisters who are buried there. But I couldn't do it with out all my work mates from my school giving me things for car boot sales and making cakes ect also giving me money. See you all in October. Love Bluenose

Letter sent to the Mayor of Hertford this week
|
F.T.A.O. The Mayor’s Secretary 2013
As former Dr Barnardo Boy who spent some of my youth at William Baker Technical School, and Leisure time in Hertford (where school rules would allow) as many of us as boys consider Hertford our adoptive second home town, we would like to as we have done in previous years to invite The Mayor to our annual re-union which is held every year at Sele Farm Community Centre, Perret Gardens SG 14 2LW on Saturday 5th October this year. Details, which are enclosed with the invitation letter, outline the day’s timetable. The hall opens at 10-30am, and closes 11-00 pm, so the Mayor, if possible may have time to call in on us sometime in the day to our function and will be made very welcome, subject I am sure with a busy timetable. Please indicate to me times that that would suit Mayor’s appointments The following contact names on the day are as follows. John Sansom, Alan Dearman or Reg Howitt, who would be delighted to escort her round our exhibition of old, photos and memorabilia that reflex down the years (1922-67) The boy’s lives and surroundings they once spent at Goldings. You may be unaware of the fact that many of our boys emigrated to Australia and Canada and make a special journey to attend our annual reunion. Included with this letter is the invitation that we send out to all our Old Boys, which gives a clearer picture of our timetable on the day P.S. We are also hoping the Hertfordshire Mercury will record this event for us.

Goldings Old Boys and Staff
|
A man that we all in later life came to realise was dedicated to us all,and along with many Staff, and were the springboard to our improved lot in life that many of us have now realised, and don't forget behind every great man..was a woman! Todays Teachers and Instiutional Staff would improve their standing if they just took a little time to study his and his families commitment! to Goldings.
