Hello Dave/Len
I've recently started following the Goldings Guest Book and find it fascinating.
Len's entry Jan.24,2013 "the jackdaw could have been..."
Was there a mention of a jackdaw somewhere and I missed it?
I was at Goldings at the same time Len was there, could it be the same jackdaw?
I also remember that one of the boys had a big crow called Bill. Unlike the jackdaw, Bill had a monstrous beak. I can't remember which boy owned it.

Well it's slowly melting away the sun has been out all day, not as hot as your sunshine Bob but warm enough to melt away the snow, so I for one will be glad to be able to get about freely again

Hi Dave the Jackdaw could have been the one I had,it was still there when I left.It also went everywere with me, it also used to go into the dining room & pinch the butter.A boy called Roy Bunce that was also in Aberdeen with me he gave it to me as a young bird about to leave its nest.He used to climb the trees around Goldings,he had a nickname,Tarzan as he swing from tree to tree making the Tarzan call that he used to call the animals in his films,he had a owl also a squirel. Some of the staff had jewellery missing but we never found it maybe still lodged in a tree. I had it for about 12months till the day I left. The boys that were at Goldings at the time if there memory is with them they will remember it I had it from around 1947 -48 when I left Goldings

Time flies by & waits for no one it only seems yesterday since they had the last one. well here goes,Happy Birthday to Pop & John also not forgeting your Daughter Dave,hope you all have a great Day none of you look a Day over 21 its what they call good living ,may be the grub at Goldings helped .HA ha
