For those of you who were at Goldings during the 40's and 50's, I am sad to tell you that my sister Celia died yesterday after a long battle against cancer. She had hoped to be with me at Waterford Church on Saturday where her own marriage took place on April 2nd, 1955.

Nice one Dave!!! The past reunion photo features more of the 50s lads than the 60s. What's more, I seem to think the picture was in fact taken by me at one of the reunions in the 80s when the day event took place in the sick bay, we all stayed at the Salisbury arms overnight before reporting back on the Parade ground on Sunday Morning before all departing for home.

Looking forward to next Saturday.

This afternoon I had a phone call from a Jenny Corden, who is the daughter of Leonard Wilson who left Goldings in March 1948,one of four brothers who was at Goldings,Stan,Frank and Harold. He is not very well at all but his daughter has asked if she can come to our re-union to represent her father who is now 81.He was a Somerset House Captain and trained as a Carpenter. She said he remembers John Sansom very well from past reunions. I shall be sending him the D.V.D.of Goldings to hopefully perk him up.I am also sending her a copy of the 1948 Goldonian for his memories (given to me by John Sansom) I told her we all send our best regards to him.

I see what you mean Bob,it's my guess it was to loose all the hot air out from the 40's and 50's lads, but removed in the 60's because by then we didn't need to stretch the truth! and I'll hear it again at the reunion! joking.I think it may have been their as they probaly keep the windows shut because of possible air raids, but if Hitler new what type of person he may have captured from their I think he would have surrendered,he must have had a inkling because he stopped at Dunkirk as in later years history will prove his secret servce tipped him off with that lot from Goldings, they would have nicked all his soldiers rations!
