BARNARDO CHRISTMAS TREE
This year I am providing a 6ft Christmas Tree on behalf of Barnardos at the country's largest Christmas tree festival where ove 400 trees will be on display in St Mary's church, Melton Mowbray. The event attracts over 5,000 visitors over the 4 day event during the Melton Victorian Market. I would like ideas of what to hang on the tree. At the momment I am using some Barnardo logo's and photo's of Barnardo homes, including Goldings. Dr Barnardo will sit on the top. I AWAIT YOUR IDEAS so please e-mail your ideas please

I'm sure you all know that when I was at Goldings, I was friends with David Barlow and we have remained so all these years. David and I were also friends with Terry Whitehead and over the years often wondered where he was and what he had done since leaving Goldings and Barnardo's. Those of you who read the guild messenger will now know the answer to that question after his incredible story was featured in the last edition. David and I are looking forward to meeting up with Terry tomorrow in Newark after more than 50 years. We are going to have a meal, few pint's and recall our days at Goldings. Our wives will also be with us, so It should be a fantastic "get to gether" Then on Thursday, David and Terry will join me when I give a Barnardo presentaion to the Glenfield U3A group.
