Hi Dave,
Many thanks for inviting me to Goldings reunion it was a day I will always remember with such happiness. It was also great to see Micheal Justice after years apart but it only seemed 2 weeks ago and what a brilliant time I had with you all at the Guest House I never laughed so much with all the old stories. I'm looking forward to going next year. I'm so proud to be an Old Barnardo's child. How can I get hold of the photos on the Goldings site? Dave please post this even if I am a proud Birmingham City fan love Jean x

After one of the residents gave me the name Mark Alonso who now lives in the U.S.A.his address I have sent him the D.V.D. of Goldings and spoken to him on the phone. He was one of the many Spanish boys who ended up in Goldings due to the Spanish Civil War,I have now traced three. After he left (1939-41)Goldings he stowed away on a ship bound for the States, and although he was illegal he was allowed in,now in his eighties he is a fervant patriot to the U.S.A.who he thanks for taking him in.He couldn't wait to talk to the resident from Goldings, and remind him that once he also lived there! So once more we have tracked another "Old Boy" down.It wouldn't surprise me if one day when we visit Mars that we uncover another? They get everywere!

Dave,
Congratulations on your efforts to organise such a very successful day. I'm sure everyone had a wonderful time.
Thanks for your time and all your hard work to make the day so enjoyable. Already looking forward to next year.
My stay at Goldings was from 1949 to 1956. I was House Captain of Buxton. I'll post more details on your excellent web-site.

Sincere regards - Robert.

Thank you for organising a great day on 1st October.
Wasn't the weather kind to us.
I noticed that John Sansom wasn't there and wondered if you know how he is.
Again thank you for organising such a delightful day and regards to your wife.

Hello Len, John was there in the morning but had to go back to his wife, he came back in the evening for the meal. He's suffering from arthiritis in his back so I told him Somerset couldn't include him in our sports day this year, and he would have to be sub up top field! Many thanks for your kind words Dave.
