The Pope was visiting England,so Mr Wheatley invited him to take the lesson in Goldings Chapel, assisted by Mr Nixon on the Sunday Evening Prayers.
Each boy was allowed to talk to the Pope in a private moment and convey their thoughts and reflections of their time at Goldings. All was going well and it was nearly complete and time for our cheese and potato tea was looming closer when a Somerset boy knelt beside the Pope and whispered to him
"Please sir could you help me with my hearing"
"Certainly my son" at this he laid bare his hands on his head, said "How's
your hearing now!
Bob said "I don't know, it's not until next Wednesday"!

I have recieved an email this week from Richard Eastwick. Richard has informed me there is no longer a Watts Naval Website, but the good news is that the Sea Schools have all joined together on one site, Watts Naval Training School, Russel Cotes Nautical School and Parkstone Sea Training School are all included in the one website.
Parkstone S.T.S. is on our Links page for anyone who would like to visit I found it interesting and Richard who runs the site would love to hear from anyone with info on the Sea Schools.
