To find the apartment converted from part of the workshop block, you have to tick 'include sold subject to contract' because it is now sold - obviously to a home sick printer, who couldn't afford to buy The Verney!

For those Old Boys who can't wait till October to visit their former home, there are lots of pictures on the net. Visit www.rightmove.co.uk and look for properties for sale in Waterford - don't specify anything else. Five or so apartments come up, one at the Conservatory end complete with floor plan. The top floors of the square tower complete with access to the roof - it's legal now. One is in the Workshop Block - the prices are a little high - have to be a real Baccy Baron to afford!. There may be an enterprising member who can copy the photos onto the website so that others can name what they were when you all lived there.

A copy of the letter sent to Martine King, Barnardo's Aftercare. Concerning the boys graves in the Waterford Church Graveyard. Hello Martine, and the West Ham supporter, Chay
I wondered if you would mind that I brought to Barnardo’s attention the extreme dilapidated condition of the boys buried at Waterford headstones, after my last visit in April of this year. Most of them are in the process of falling down, and for many the epitaphs are now becoming unreadable. Speaking to the person in charge of the graves, John Cooper, who appeared also concerned and suggested that he would grant to us his permission to allow us to return them to their upright state, but as you may be aware this will not return the boys names and information to the headstones. I do know there is a plaque in the Chapel listing their names, but I am sure that if funds are available perhaps we could “do the job properly”, failing that could Barnardo’s help us to gain some Lottery money to recover them. I have asked on the Goldings web site for suggestions or help but to date nothing before I approached Barnardo’s, as I didn’t want to keep expecting Barnardo’s for help, but I would welcome their support. I anticipate your help, as you have always been to me over many years I’ve known you. Dave.

Excuse me Mr Drummond! you paid for a meal! thats a joke! You said to John Horn "I'm not very hungry John so I'll share a meal with you",and then promptly scoffed the lot and let John pay with the excuse "I left my money in my bus pass" Have a great holiday,my love to Ann,can't you lose him and leave him there!
