Hi everyone, Margaret and I Had a most enjoyable few days at Romney Sands. drove through Dymchurch a few times and it appears to have changed little since the day the place was invaded by us dickie boys, except the holiday camp has been replaced with houses but it brought back a few happy memories as I spent 1957 at the camp. We also took a nostalgic ride on the train from Hythe to Dungerness via Dymchurch and Romney. we also spent an enjoyable day in Canterbury and a day in Calais. Now well stocked for the summer season, having had our first BBQ this evening.
Hope you all have a fab summer and look forward to our meet in October.

I wanted to thank all of you, for your support, your well wishes and your donations for my Marathon which I successfully completed last month. My knees are still a little ruined but it was an amazing day and very emotional. My time was an amazing 06:08:27, which not being able to train like the professionals do, is quite a feat in itself. I managed to raise over their asking minimum and the total, right now stands at a whopping £1,647 for Barnardos. I know there were a couple of chaps from here who pledged towards this total and if they could get in touch about forwarding the sponsor money on I'd be happy to put it through. But another successful end to a wrenchingly hard journey. I would tell you all about how I thought I was going to give up at mile three.. or that when I was at mile eighteen I was cursing my subborn nature about even trying to get round such a tough course, but I won't bore you with details. I just wanted to thank you all. Here's to you, guys!! I wore your school badge with pride!!!
