A copy of the letter sent to Martine King, Barnardo's Aftercare. Concerning the boys graves in the Waterford Church Graveyard.
Hello Martine, and the West Ham supporter, Chay
I wondered if you would mind that I brought to Barnardo’s attention the extreme dilapidated condition of the boys buried at Waterford headstones, after my last visit in April of this year. Most of them are in the process of falling down, and for many the epitaphs are now becoming unreadable. Speaking to the person in charge of the graves, John Cooper, who appeared also concerned and suggested that he would grant to us his permission to allow us to return them to their upright state, but as you may be aware this will not return the boys names and information to the headstones. I do know there is a plaque in the Chapel listing their names, but I am sure that if funds are available perhaps we could “do the job properly”, failing that could Barnardo’s help us to gain some Lottery money to recover them. I have asked on the Goldings web site for suggestions or help but to date nothing before I approached Barnardo’s, as I didn’t want to keep expecting Barnardo’s for help, but I would welcome their support.
I anticipate your help, as you have always been to me over many years I’ve known you.

So sorry l did not catch up with you all,But did catch up with DAVE and MAL over a meal as they only live 10 miles away from TAMWORTH after a long drive from CORNWALL where l used to live.
l just like to say l got back to the BAHAMAS after a long trip via MIAMI thanks to the b,a, strike.
