No Dave we had no Badge on our grey jacket, but as John Horn said we had grey shirts did not like them. When they where new they felt itchy to the skin that was the darker grey of the two ,the new badge came with the new blazer,as time goes on you forget some things but I think I am right you know what I mean don't you Dave

I remember entering Golding's in October 1942 and being issued with a grey shirt and navy blue jacket and trousers second hand of course and told to wear then every day but for sundays and going to the town on saturdays I was given a new navy blue suit which we picked up from the sewing room straight after saturday lunch, the sewing room was situated on the left of the main passage way going towards the stairway leading to the dormitory's.In the spring we swapt the navy blue suit for a grey flannel suit until the autumn,we still wore the blue jacket during the week but with short trousers,I left before MrWheatly arived so I was not there during the green blazer period.
