I have contacted one of the residents of Goldings who has sent me details of his first quote for restoring the clock in the stable block, and what percentage of the cost is expected from us towards it's restoration. Barnardo's have suggested we also approach Heritage Groups who perhaps would be interested in helping with the cost for the project.Until we are happy with the organisation of this project can I suggest at this stage NO money is sent towards it,just a financial commitment IF we all get it off the ground. The timetable I have suggested is,on our next reunion the plaque is unveiled by an Old Boy or Staff to commererate it's restoration and our efforts in the project, lets see! £3,850 plus VAT is the first quote.

Dave, I was in the choir and also played the piano at the evening services some times, spending a fair amount of time in the chapel. I well remember a number of pictures hanging on the walls, some were painted by Frank Offord who was an excellent painter. I once did a water colour painting in the chapel myself and Pin Head (who was also an excellent artist himself) was so pleased with it, that he stretched a canvas, gave me some oil paints and asked me to do it again, which I did. I later went onto win the headmasters prize for endevour and I chose as my prize, a Reevs paint box and Bob Newton took me in his car to collect it from the little art shop which was near the war memorial in Hertford.
