Hi Dave & friends at Goldings, Im sorry to say that Val & I shall not be able to share in this years Old Boy Reunion as it falls on my Son special 40th Birthday. We trust that you will have a great time and look forward to seeing the Photos. A few clue's as to where I was on Saturday July 7th as part of my 70th birthday celebrations(July 13th)
There are 19 of them, one has a roof and they are often used by judges.
It's ace to take advantage and be there enjoying lots of love as Goldings boys did all them years ago!!
OK, I won't string you along any longer. Yes, it was Wimbledon & No 1 court to be exact.
It was a fantastic day and my first visit since 1958 as part of the Ball Boy team with thanks to the Rev David Appleyard. Many happy memories came flooding back as I strolled around with Dylan Carroll from Barnardos,who I took with me. many of you have met Dylan at the last 2 reunions. The old place has seen a few changes but the outside courts are as I remembered then with a few minor changes. The centre court has lost some of its charm with the inclusion of the roof and No. 1 court seems unchanged from my memories all those years ago. We had good seats on court One and enjoyed the Girls Junior Final and both Mixed Double semi finals
