Hello David, so nice to hear from you and the date of the U14 final. I assume it will be at the same venue as last year but could you clarify the times for us to inform the Goldings representatives. I will send down to you in the next month the cup for the winning team to retain, and do you require another write up for the programme. I have to tell our man who did it on behalf of Goldings is not very well at the moment but someone will be there to represent us, many thanks for your help and perhaps you may get in your local press a little write up about it, and lets hope the weather is kinder this year for the spectators. If anyone is stuck for a sub you have my permission to pencil in my name! (looking back with envy) Dave and all from Goldings.

Brian is much better. the hospital hope he will be going to Papworth on the 20th, then we are not sure if he is coming home or going back to Lister Hospital, it all depends on what Papworth find.

Goverment Deparment of Learning
The exercise of reading and the short paragraph below on our guest book was sent to the hamlet of Ely in hope that they could learn to read after extensive funds over a 10 year period. Government Officers were determined to distract them from chewing on straws, drinking cider, witchcraft, baling hay by hand, and the use of horses to plough the fields, and one bright spark who thinks he can fix motors! It appears that it failed, as the exercise has been returned to us as no one came forward able to read it all yet? The department is determined to make this hamlet literate so we have returned to the first exercise of arithmetic and we have forwarded to them the abacus for them to share! until further notice! Electric and Gas was mentioned to introduce them to, but this we feel would to much of a shock to them at this stage, perhaps some time in the future! as wood camp fires are still popular with them along with their clay pipe's!
