Dear David
The funeral of Mr Newton I am afraid I am unable to attend the ceremony and the distances are to far for me and the expenditure to great at this time
I offer my sympathies to all his family for their loss its a pity as he did so much for us and I feel guilty about not attending as I would like to very much in deed

Dear Dave,
My brother, Stephen Sheppard forwarded me the sad news about Bob Newton and
asked if I would organise a donation from all the Sheppard family.

I would be grateful if you would kindly forward me Evelyn Newton's address
please and give her our best wishes.

Later in the year when I hope to have more time, I will try to send you some
copies of photos that I have belonging to my father, Frederick Sheppard,
incase anyone is interested.

I am sorry that I cannot attend the funeral as I shall be abroad
then. Hope everything goes well.

Kind regards
Jo Griffiths (nee Sheppard)

Hello Bob Robertson, and all, just got back to-day from Mr Newtons funeral,he had a tremendous send off,not only from "Goldings" family and friends, but also his former Regiment of Para's.Before he came to "Goldings" he did a lot of good work for young men, which I was amazed of all the work he did for the youths of his time and later his local church at Watton-at Stone. We were very lucky to be in the teachings of Bob, and his family along with many fine staff so sadly passed on out of this life that worked at "Goldings" so long Bob from us all.
